ABOUT THE FILM

Drew Denny directed a series of four short documentaries that were produced by Salma Hakey Pinault for the Kering Foundations Caring for Women Fundraiser.  Each documentary follows a non profit organization that supports survivors of gender based violence - Sanctuary, Violence Intervention Program, Equality Now and FreeFrom. On the night the films premiered, the Kering Foundation raised $4.5 Million to support the organizations, setting a new record high for funds raised at the event.

Founded in 1984, the Violence Intervention Program is dedicated specifically to supporting Latina American survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence, providing business development, and marketing workshops for survivors as they build solid, independent futures for themselves.

Equality Now is a worldwide human rights organization dedicated to securing the legal and systemic change needed to end discrimination against women and girls and to achieve true gender equality.

Sanctuary for Families is New York's leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence, providing medical, psychological, legal, and economic services which empower thousands to regain their independence and stability.

An organization led by queer, transgender, and BIPOC survivors, FreeFrom works to end gender-based violence by building economic freedom and safety with survivors.
