Charlene Modeste

Charlene Modeste is a performing artist, storyteller and plant medicine advocate based in Los Angeles. An embodiment of her creative practice, her work sits at the intersection of radical self-acceptance, collective healing and whimsy.

She premiered and self-produced her autobiographical one-woman show, She’s About to POP! at the Hollywood Fringe Festival where she was the recipient of a 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival Scholarship Award. In 2022, she was honored to receive a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Documentary Award for Best Narration for her work on the award-winning documentary, Riotsville, USA.

An optimist at heart, with an edifying belief in being one’s own champion, her work is a unique blend of advocacy through creative expression.
