nothing exists seperate

PROJECT INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION
In nothing exists separate, 2018 artist-in-residence Rebekah Mei captures the nine archetypes of the Enneagram in nine different mediums, the results of a months-long experiment in attempting to experience the world through the eyes of each type.
nothing exists separate represents the nine archetypes of the Enneagram with a nine-piece visual art gallery by 2018 artist-in-residence Rebekah Mei, which debuted at Innerspace Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles on November 3, 2018 as part of the 2018 Level Ground Festival. Born out of a kind of performance art that involved living within the confines of each type, each of the nine pieces has a unique focus and is created in a different medium. Through the written and visual parts of this show, viewers are prompted to do the delicate work of looking into the blind spots of their own personality while gaining small insights into the experience of the other, whoever they may be.
The show also included a bar, live DJ, dialogue with a psychologist, spoken word poetry, and an interactive 64-page zine guiding participants through the visual art.
